The first ever IPSC shotgun world championship was hosted in the wonderful city of Debrecen, Hungary. 470 competitors from 32 countries participated with legendary shooters like Jerry Miculek, Dirk Frey or Vaclav Vinduska. They were competing through 30 ingenious and challenging courses.
The tremendous work of designing the courses featuring Hungarian pecularities and historical characters were mostly done by Géza Puskás whose work was highly praised even by the chairman of the IPSC World Association, Nick Alexakos. The one week long competition was not complicated by rough weather, it was good all week and the atmosphere was also nice and friendly. According to letters and statements from the competitors, the event and the organizing work behind were worthy for a world championship.
